Security6.net use a lot of Open Source as part of our business critical infrastructure - which is why we sponsor a lot of associations and software developers.
This page is not meant for bragging, but as a suggestion for others to support open source. :-)
Below you will find a list over some of the sponsorships that we have given to.
We use OpenBSD as the primary operating system on most servers, we try to give a donation regularly at each release.
Why support OpenBSD:
How much does Security6.net donate? Usually we give about EUR 100 and buy t-shirt and CD. Plus specific donations to various projects like buying a new server or other hardware for sub systems on OpenBSD.
Security6.net joined OWASP and paid $500 to this project in July 2007.
Security6.net expect to have a booth at Linuxforum each year and make a donation. In 2007 vi paid about 27.000 DKK to Linuxforum. The name has changed to Open Source Days and in 2008 we did not make a donation - but hope to be back in 2009.
Since EuroBSDCon 2007 was in Copenhagen we donated 15.000 DKK.
We have previously supported Auditor Security Collection with a Soekris which was listed on the wish list for the developers. From time to time we send some donation money to BackTrack and promotes the project in various ways like handing out 100 copies nicely packaged at Linuxforum 2007.
Apart from the donations we support associations as members:
The company Security6.net is not a large coorporation with a lot of money to spend, but we try. We only support open source and IT-related projects.
If you want to ask for a donation contact Henrik Kramshøj and explain why we should donate. Do not expect us to be able to support!
